Board Member, Nancy Sileo is an Assistant Provost for Academic Affairs at the University of Northern Colorado. Nancy joined the Provost’s Office in 2017, and her current responsibilities include the management of short and long-term critical priorities, initiatives, and activities that relate to Academic Affairs operations. She has a deep commitment to the academic mission of the University, to equity and inclusion, and principled leadership.
Nancy is also a Professor of Early Childhood Special Education/Early Childhood Education, and has been in the field of education for over 26 years. She earned her Ed.D. from the University of Northern Colorado in 1998 and was on faculty at UNLV for 14 years before returning to UNC in 2012 as Assistant Dean for the College of Education and Behavioral Sciences. She is also author and coauthor of myriad publications in the fields of teacher education/special education/ESSE teacher education, as well as numerous publications related to HIV/AIDS prevention education and research. Nancy co-authored a book on working with families of children with special needs.
Nancy joined the board in 2017. She heard about The Success Foundation from former Board members Eugene Sheehan and Janet Alcorn. “I chose to become directly involved with the organization and board because I believe TSF provides crucial funding for teachers and school projects and programs that cannot be funded through traditional school district funding routes.” In regards to our board, Nancy stated that the allocation of funding to support equality and access to 21st Century educational resources for all students in District 6 schools, would be the true definition of success.

What is one fact about yourself that most people don’t know?
“I have vistited all but two states: South Dakota and North Dakota. I plan to take a road trip with my sister through both states in Summer 2018!”
