About 300 riders brought their bikes to Lincoln Park to take one of four route options for the event. More cyclists signed up for the 50- and 62-mile rides this year than last year, according to Julie Hill, the executive director of the Success Foundation Serving Greeley-Evans Schools.
Greeley resident Scott Pringle chose to take the 50-mile ride so he could return to Lincoln Park in time for Oktobrewfest, an annual festival in downtown Greeley. Even though he no longer has kids in the school district, supporting the district seemed like a no-brainer to him. “Anything they can do to enhance the learning environment makes sense to me,” Pringle said.
