Members of The Success Foundation Board and Staff braved the heat at the 6th Annual D6 Community Kickoff at Island Grove Regional Park. The event was bigger than it’s ever been, distributing nearly 4,000 backpacks stuffed with school supplies to students in our district. Event attendees had plenty to do, with over 70 vendor booths that included a petting zoo from the Greeley West FFA Chapter, Frozen Yogurt, Face painting, community booths and more! Our very own Nutrition Services made delicious breakfast burritos for the general public, while area businesses provided food for nearly 400 volunteers.
The Success Foundation decided to set up a prize drawing, where students could enter to win one of seven educational prizes. Among these prizes were LEGO Architecture Sets, Drones, Circuit Kits, and more. Our mission has been to expand innovative learning in the classroom, so we look forward to seeing students have fun while learning with these giveaways! We also handed out colorful notebooks and bookmarks to encourage reading and writing!
The D6 Community Kickoff has always been an opportunity for us to interact with the students and parents in the district. We have been working very diligently to establish a larger presence in our community among not only our wonderful donors and supporters, but also our students and families. Our board members and staff had a wonderful time at this 6th annual event, and can’t wait to do it again next year!
