The Success Foundation Board Members joined forces with the Growing Great Schools Campaign to help spread the word about the 3A Mill Levy Override. We attended their campaign kickoff event, and helped community members sign up to volunteer, as well as update or create their voter registration!
Did you know that Greeley-Evans School District 6 is the 14th largest school district in the state of Colorado but ranks 168th out of 178 school districts in terms of funding?
It’s time for our community to invest in our children!
The Board of Education approved the ballot language for a Mill Levy Override for the November 2017 ballot at their August 28th meeting. The Success Foundation Board of Directors has voted to officially endorse the passing of this ballot initiative.
In November, voters will be asked to support a 10 mill, $14 million per year mill levy override. The additional funding will be used for the direct benefit of our students including:
• Improving Safety, Security, and Transportation
• Supporting Academic and Vocational Programs to Graduate, Career-Ready Students
• Providing up-to-date Instructional Materials and Technology to Support Every Learner
• Attracting and Retaining the Highest Quality Staff to Serve our Students
District 6 charter schools will receive the same per student allocation as our traditional public schools from this mill levy override. For ballot language, please click here.
The property tax increase District 6 seeks would cost about $72 per year per $100,000 of residential property assessed valuation…that’s $6 per month. Still have questions about the mill levy override? Visit the FAQ’s here.
We are so grateful to you, our donors and supporters, for your generosity. You’ve already invested in our schools and in our students through your donations to The Success Foundation. Programs and projects you have supported make a difference in student achievement. The mill levy override can make an even greater impact, and we encourage everyone to become informed, voice concerns, and share information with friends, family, neighbors, and colleagues before the November election.
In order to pass this mill levy override, we know there is much work to do. The Growing Great Schools Campaign has formed to help with this effort. If you are interested in being involved as a donor or volunteer, please visit www.d6growinggreatschools.com.
Thank you for your continued support!
